I was very excited to find quite a few free podcasts from the Culinary Institute of America on Itunes. There were 3 which I subscribed to and watched:
- Catalonia Highlights and Cuisine 11 min.
- The Island Cooking of Crete 19 min.
- A Market Tour of Athens 15 min.
The podcasts were videos, and were quite interesting and informative. All would be good examples of items that I could use in my culinary academy classes. I liked the fact that cultural information and historical highlights were included in each of the podcasts, which is an important aspect when speaking about the cuisine of a country. The Athens podcasts was the least professionally done, there were some fuzzy scenes and it was the least interesting of the podcasts. I have purchased CIA materials for classroom use in the past and it is wonderful to find materials which are available for free use.
